JOB TITLE: Principal
LOCATION: Lagos
JOB SUMMARY:
A Principal oversees the daily activities and operations within a school. He/She manages all school
operations, supervise teachers and other staff, coordinate curricula, and provide a safe and productive learning environment for students.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Responsible for the daily supervision of the school, its students, teachers, professional and support staff.
• Evaluate teachers and other staff members to ensure that the standardized curriculum is adhered to, and identify areas of improvement.
• Oversee budgeting, and determine budget allocations for items such as supplies, materials, etc.
• Assist the teaching staff in the development, implementation, modifications, and selection of curriculum materials.
• Responsible for the preparation of timetable and class schedules, and their functioning.
• Hold regular staff meetings for the purpose of discussing educational and administrative matters
• Suggest appropriate changes, ensuring adherence to approved policies, practices and procedures.
• Provide guidance to students on their academic or vocational goals
• Discipline students according to school policy when necessary
• Participate in hiring and training school personnel
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for students
• Maintain communications with parents or guardians regarding the total school program, student
achievement, and behavior.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• A Master’s degree in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in Education with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven work experience as a Principal or Vice principal
• Strong skills in project management, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and active listening
• Extensive knowledge of curricular resources and programs
• Knowledge of school administrative processes and national educational regulations
• Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
