CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER (CPO)

JOB SUMMARY
Our client, a leading Fintech space is seeking to hire an experienced and qualified professional for the position a CPO . The CPO is expected drive the team of engineers to deliver on the products in a seamless and timely manner. He / She will own the responsibility of the successful launch and continued success of the new and existing product.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understanding of the customers in the market, their needs and other information which will drive product creation and the life-cycle
  • Working with  a team of engineers(10 + members)
  • Responsible for the successful launch of our focus products
  • Working closely with sales and marketing to develop the client proposition, and determine product pricing models
  • Track performance of portals, products and customers
  • Establish product-market fit and work on the product constructs
  • Responsible for creating customer life-cycles, customer flows and customer communications
  • Portfolio management and tracking
  • Design credit policy at launch working with cross-functional teams with the aim of delivering optimal business results
  • Perform UAT of the credit products
  • Grow all markets along acquisition, activation and retention KPIs
  • Develop a strong understanding of in-country context, user needs, and competitive landscape
Essential Skill and Experience
  • 6+ years product experience, preferably in any of the following: FinTech, Micro-finance, emerging markets, Mobile Wallets and Payments
  • Proficient with the latest methods of product discovery and development
  • Ability to understand and develop multiple levers across customer life-cycle for life-cycle management
  • Experience in using multiple marketing & sales channels to drive business
  • Understanding of levers in driving a profitable portfolio
  • Ability to understand client requirements and convert it into a proper product concept and integrate into a product road-map
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to drive critical results
  • Ability to design simple and intuitive user interfaces
  • Drive technical/engineering teams to deliver desired elements to support the business
  • Appreciation of UI/UX design principles will be an advantage
  • Business rationale for enhancement and expansion of different product features
  • Demonstrable commercial experience in a product focused role, a strong understanding of product management methodologies especially in a business to business setting
  • Experience of working in Agile (e.g Kanban, Scrum) and applying Design Thinking methodology to solving problems
  • Experience in conducting customer interviews, and working with users to translate requirements into user stories
  • Strong commercial skill set with the ability to successfully understand and build business cases
  • Confident with working in a fast-paced environment and playing an integral part in the building and development of products
  • Ability to switch between big picture thinking and the detail
  • Experience of interacting with senior stakeholders and communicate with impact (both verbally and written)
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent by qualification or experience
  • Relevant technical certifications and/or professional project management qualifications
  • Should be a balance between a Technical Product Manager and a Product Manager that focuses on the User Research and UI/UX side of the product
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of key emerging technologies, current trends and their potential disruptive impacts
  • Experience of working with and managing relationships with 3rd party design and development houses
  • Experience of working in (or with) technology,  fintech/payments space
