Job Title: Marketing and Business Development Manager
Job Location: Lagos Island
Our client, an established investment and stockbroking firm, is looking for a sales-driven marketing and business development manager to take over a mix of existing accounts and new sales territory. The ideal candidate should have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to chase and close new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
MARKETING
- Planning and execution of all aspects of marketing activities
- Supervision of all marketing departments activities to ensure prompt and efficient service delivery, accurate and timely reports etc
- Visiting clients to canvass for transactions and solve client’s problems
- Determining customers’ needs and matching them with suitable products to meet the needs
- Preparation of weekly manager’s report
- Compilation of monthly Marketing Performance Report (MPR) and generally monitor overall marketing performance for the Group.
- Continuous monitoring of service delivery to ensure efficiency and effectiveness to meet an acceptable standard of customer satisfaction
- Prospecting for and handling of new customers and referrals
- Liaison with other departments/units on client’s transactions and payments
- Leading the management in the overall task of formulating corporate strategies for marketing, business development, product development and customer service.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Carry out a periodic review of existing products and creation of new products
- Identify and recommend promotional advertisement and publicity needs and strategies for meeting them
- Manage all the personnel training, office equipment, logistics and other needs of the department and report on them
- Member of Investment management committee, manager’s meeting
- Participate actively in the formation of marketing policies, strategies & direction
- New business generation/clients acquisition especially medium size to large SMEs with the purpose of capital raising both in form of private placements and IPOs.
- Develop with the support of other colleagues to raise short to medium term debts (bonds and debentures) for well-structured companies.
- Introducing new, but fast-growing enterprises, such as companies in the e-commerce sector (e.g. Eko Shopping and Konga), to the capital market and other capital raising methodologies.
- How to tap the Nigerians-diaspora market for investment banking purposes.
- New business generation/clients acquisition especially medium size to large SMEs with the purpose of capital raising both in form of private placements and IPOs.
- Help public corporations/governments to raise bonds (especially state governments).
- Merger and Acquisition opportunities for willing companies.
- Help raise fund for large, established corporates who are trying to raise fund for business expansion.
- Accessing soft loans and development capital from CBN, BOI, International and Multilateral agencies
CLIENT SERVICES
- Providing help and advice to customers about products and services
- Communicating courteously with the customer by telephone, email, letter and face to face
- Placing cold calls to clients to enquire about service delivery
- Investigating and solving customer complaints or any major incidents
- Keeping accurate records of discussions, correspondence and interaction with customers
- Set up new customer accounts and update old customers account regularly
- Analyzing statistics or other data to determine the level of customer services delivery
- Meeting with other managers to discuss possible improvements to customer service
- Training staff to deliver a high standard of customer service
- Internet service regular update of company’s website
- Make recommendation on gifts to clients as appropriate
- Associate, rejoice with clients on the festive period, birthday, wedding anniversaries and important landmark events
- Increasing our share of wallets from an existing client through both up-selling and cross-selling.
- Reactivating of abandoned and dormant accounts
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of BSC/HND in Finance/Accounting, Economics/Business or Administration/Marketing.
- Possession of MBA/MSc and or professional qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA, NIMN, would be an added advantage
- Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in a Stock broking Firm or Financial Institution in management position.
