Executive Assistant – Curriculum A

Reports to: Learning Director

Location: Lekki, Lagos State

Salary: 150-200k

Our client, a Montessori School is looking to hire an Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant plays a pivotal role. They support the leadership role, and perform administrative and operational tasks to maintain an effective and well-organized office.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be ready to move to a teaching role if necessary
  • Should have a good knowledge of curriculum development
  • Maintain and co-ordinate the effective operation of the Learning Director’s daily and annual calendar, including ensuring all required paperwork for events, appointments and meetings are available in good time.
  • To undertake training to become a Montessori educator
  • To undertake additional tasks as directed by Learning Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or a post-graduate degree in Education from an accredited college or university
  • Registered with Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in the education sector, preferably where you have provided complex, administrative support to staff in senior leadership roles.
  • Advanced level skills and experience with a variety of computer programs and online systems including Microsoft Office, Content management systems, Databases etc
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to successfully manage a number of diverse tasks in a busy school environment
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with all members of the School community.
  • Ability to work flexibly and outside usual business hours if required.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.

ESSENTIAL SKILL REQUIREMENT

  • Knowledge of Montessori philosophy and methods of instruction.
  • Knowledge of child growth/development and child behavior characteristics.
  • Great interest in education and working with children
  • Knowledge of the rules of classroom management
  • Instructing – Possesses an engaging instructional manner i.e. can engage others to direct them on practical skills
  • Learning Strategies – Follows instructional methods and procedures given for the situation when new things are to be taught.
  • Active Listening – Gives full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
