Job Title: Farm Project Manager

Location: Ota

Our client, a growing agricultural business which is wholly Nigerian owned is searching for a farm manager who will be responsible for the success of the organization in all areas. ( Operations, Budgeting, Sales, Marketing and Human Resource Management) . The Farm Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring staff, crops, and livestock, purchasing supplies, preparing budgets and reports, and ensuring maximum profitability. He/ She should also be able to maintain professional networks and keep abreast of developments in agricultural sector in Nigeria.

Essential Responsibilities

•          Analyze existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and implement improvements

•.         Planning and managing all farm activities including scheduling for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectations

•          Preparing and implementing budgets and monitoring financial performance against these

•          Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, vaccine, and other supplies are regularly restocked

•.         Handling the marketing and sales of products on the firm like fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat

•          Dealing with external stakeholders – public relations etc

•          Presenting regular updates to the company board/owners

•          Ensuring that all activities are in strict compliance with relevant legislation

•          Developing the business strategy and making sure this is implemented effectively

Essential Requirement

•.          Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agricultural technology or Engineering, animal science or equivalent

•          Proven experience as a farm manager

•          Additional qualification in Business, planning and financial management skills is recommended

•.          Management experience would be plus

•.          Extensive experience in a farming related field

•          Human Resource experience, including hiring, supervising, and evaluation of staff

•          Experience of working with a Board of Directors and committees

•          Excellent verbal and written communications skills

•          The ability to manage and supervise a staff team

•          Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crises

•.          Willingness to work overtime as required
