Development Director (Education)

Job Summary:

Our client, a reputable Montessori School has given us the task to source for a competent and qualified Development Director. Under the supervision of the Principal, the Development Director is responsible for creating and driving the school’s Growth Plan, engaging all past, existing and potential stakeholders. The DD must be able to serve as “the face of the school”, taking the lead in the School’s Growth Plan, specifically the role is responsible for:

  1. Enrollment – Passionately seek, engage and enrol right-fit families, within the boundaries of the school’s ethical and cultural values, ensuring the school is at full capacity.
  2. Community Building– Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships and engagement with all existing and past families of the school
  3. Public Relations – Lead the development and management of the school’s visibility and reputation.
  4. Business Services – Provide leadership to the Business Services Officer in the management of the school’s relationship and responsibilities with the government/ providers of all statutory obligations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Brings to the attention of the Principal/ED, such matters and data as are appropriate to keep the Principal/ED fully informed to meet its responsibilities. This includes suggestions for policy and program development, and strategies for the betterment of the institution.
  • Serves as chief communicator between the Principal/ED and all stakeholders outside of the Learning Team
  • Cultivate a positive school image. This includes generating positive publicity and high-profile coverage in social media platforms by designing and implementing social media strategy and content (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc). Technical end will be managed by Social Media Manager.
  • Manage content coordination and production of the school’s publications.
  • Take primary responsibility for planning all school events, in collaboration with the members of the SLT. This includes promoting and increasing parent attendance at all school events, ensuring highest quality events, and coordinating the activities of all guests and speakers.
  • Supervise the role and responsibilities of the business services officer to ensure that the school meets all obligations, has good standing and positive relationships with all external statutory stakeholders (Ministry of Education, LIRS, FIRS, CAC, HMO, Pensions, Legal, Audit, Leasehold, et cetera)
  • Participates in professional growth activities and keeps abreast of developments in the educational field (both Montessori and conventional) through participation in professional organizations, regular attendance at staff development workshops and professional conferences; and review of professional journals and other publications.

Educational Qualification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or any other related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in marketing/brand management (school marketing experience will be an added advantage).
  •  Must be a self-starter, able to handle responsibilities without supervision.

Key Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes:

  • Working knowledge of Christian education, Montessori philosophy/method and bilingual environments.
  • Knowledge of best practices in ethical school marketing.
  • Knowledge of strategy development and implementation 
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations. 
  • Preferably a female. Young, experienced and tech savvy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
