Accounts and Admin Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos 

Our client, a reputable Interior Designing and Architecture firm based in Lagos is currently seeking an Accounts and Admin Officer for immediate employment.

Job Description

  • Ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are met and on a timely basis to avoid infractions.
  • Contribute to preparation and submission of bids, tender, contractor prequalification, etc.
  • Supervise Clerical Staff
  • Prepare and maintain HR related documentations including staff payroll, pension, PAYE, HMO etc.
  • Supervise Clerical Staff
  • Prepare and maintain accounting records including source documents, general ledger, cash, banking transactions, investments records etc.
  • Process payments and maintain accounting records for clients, suppliers, vendors, statutory, etc.
  • Liaise with the external auditors, consultants and relevant regulators.
  • Maintain the day-to-day administration of the Office and coordinate communications between team.
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations and reports to accompany monthly management accounts
  • Assist auditors with required information
  • Generate invoices for client payment
  • Prepare debt recovery schedules and reconciliation
  • Assisting with the preparation and consolidating annual accounting reports
  • Reconciling balance sheets on a frequent basis
  • Analyzing expenditures against budget, investigating annual and monthly financial accounts.
  • Compile withholding tax and value added tax relating to invoices and maintain updated schedule of withholding tax, value added tax, PAYEE, and other statutory payments.
  • Utilize database software to organize financial account information
  • Providing accounting support to managerial staff colleagues and clients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • BSc/ HND in Accounting
  • 3 – 5 years good work experience
  • AATWA /ICAN/ACCA/ACA an added advantage.
  • Good written, verbal communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Competency in MS Office, MS Excel and accounting software (Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
  • Experience with an Interior Design/Construction is added advantage
  • Must be able to manage client relationship.
